What to Expect During a Pet Emergency

At Northway Animal Emergency Clinic, we’re dedicated to making your visit as smooth and stress-free as possible while ensuring your pet receives exceptional care. Learn about our typical emergency-care protocol, from start to finish, so you know what to expect when you arrive.

Here’s What You Can Expect During Your Visit:

  • Check In:

Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by one of our friendly client care specialists, who will assist with checking in your pet and gathering the necessary information.

  • Triage:

After check-in, a licensed veterinary technician will bring you and your pet into an exam room for a triage assessment. This helps us prioritize care based on the urgency of your pet’s condition.

  • Examination and Treatment Plan:

Our veterinarian will then perform a thorough physical examination and discuss a tailored treatment plan with you. We’ll explain all options and costs upfront, ensuring you’re comfortable with the next steps.

  • Life-Threatening Emergencies:

If your pet is in a critical or life-threatening condition, they will immediately be brought to the doctor and ER team for urgent care as soon as you arrive.

Please note that due to the unpredictable nature of emergencies, wait times for non-critical cases may vary. We appreciate your understanding as we prioritize pets with the most urgent needs. For your comfort during any wait, our lobby features a coffee and tea station, magazines, and a television.

Your pet’s health and your peace of mind are our top priorities, and we’ll keep you informed every step of the way. Please call us at (518) 761-2602 with any questions or concerns you may have.
